Benson is a handsome guy, 75 pounds, about 3-years-old — and he’s super friendly. He’s a real love-bug and a little shy when he first meets you.
Update:
Sweet Benson needs more exercise and stimulation than daily walks provide. He requires a backyard where he can run and play – and chase squirrels to his heart’s content. He is perfect in the house and he loves to cuddle and be with his person.
Foster Update:
Benson is very, very sweet, but a little big for a lapdog. He’s a love bug and very submissive with other dogs. He loves people and has even been really sweet with a 16-month-old toddler, although he has little body awareness and can unintentionally “take out” a small child. 🙂 He’s also great at stealing her crackers… but he’s very gentle about it. He walks like a dream with a loose leash until….THERE’S A SQUIRREL!
He’s housetrained and crate trained. He must have been a city apartment dog as he will not go outside unless you accompany him into the backyard, unless… THERE’S A SQUIRREL!!! He now spends his nights outside the crate and has spent short stints uncrated while we are away. All shoes and remotes and children’s toys must still be scooped up and hidden, as he does have a particular fondness for electronics (phones, remotes) and other “fun stuff”. He cruises the house constantly looking for things to pick up, but he nicely hands over whatever treasures he’s found when asked.
Benson is very calm, but very aware. He watches television – really. He loves The Colbert Report. What a cutie.
