It is with great sadness that we inform you of the passing of Squad Dog Kona.
Kona suffered from some pretty significant health issues since being returned to us, along with his sister Cocoa (aka Gypsy), 18 months ago. We moved both of them to our permanent foster program after several months, knowing that Kona had found his forever home with his current foster family.
Kona’s foster mom loved him dearly. He could not have been more loved, nor provided better care, in any other home. Love is all Kona ever wanted. And he returned lots of it, to everyone he met. It’s the best gift you can give anyone. Kona knew that and we think the past year-and-a half, although physically difficult, was possibly the very happiest time of his life.
Godspeed, sweet Kona. We know you are running and playing and laughing and loving on the other side. Our thoughts and prayers are with your sister and with your foster family as we know how much they will miss you. We will all miss you, sweet boy.
