What Are Referral Dogs?
Referral dogs are dogs from local area animal shelters or Atlanta Dog Squad Approved Partners.
Check here if you don’t see the dog for you in our
Available Dogs
section.
Our goal first and foremost is to give retrievers another chance – so please take a look at the referral dogs ready for a forever home.

Referred Dogs for Adoption:
The dogs listed on this page are not Atlanta Dog Squad retrievers and we did not write the dogs’ bios and descriptions. For more information, please contact the individual listed in the dog's description. The Atlanta Dog Squad makes NO guarantee as to the health or temperament of any of the dogs on this referral page.

Adoption Tips:
When adopting any dog, be informed and ask questions about the dog's health status. Ask for verification of vaccination and heartworm preventative. Reputable rescue organizations will provide this information. Be aware of temperament, ask questions to ensure the dog will fit into your family’s lifestyle and make sure you get a written adoption agreement.

Meet Sami
Sami was adopted from the Etowah Valley Humane Society in the summer of 2009. He is heartworm negative, on monthly Heartgard, neutered, and up to date on all shots--rabies, distemper, parvo, hep, and kennel cough. He's due his next ones in March.
Sami will be three in January (estimate). He loves people, and considers everyone his new best friend--excellent with children and other dogs, and he is not aggressive to cats. He will roll right over to have his tummy rubbed, and knows basic obedience commands.
He is not high-energy, but loves his walk and is very playful. He likes car rides--he just curls up and goes to sleep--and is house and crate trained, and will let you know when he needs to go out.
I can provide transport for him to anywhere in the state of Georgia (and parts of Tennessee and Alabama) until summer of 2012, when I will be moving. We are currently located in Rome, GA. The ONLY reason I am parting with him is because of the plane flight and quarantine, he is the perfect dog, and I want to be sure that he goes to the best place possible.

Meet Joy
Joy is a 2 ˝ year old Lab x Doberman. She is spayed, HW negative, and vaccinated. She’s about 60 pounds, active but not hyper. Lots of drive, and will do anything for food treats. Gets along great with other dogs, will chase cats. She has a lot of Doberman looks, but a lot of retriever qualities (loves water, loves to retrieve, very eager to please).
Joy was rescued from a shelter in SC-she came there as a stray. She’s an awesome dog-she’d be great at agility or some other activity. She’s bright, smart, and really easy to train. She’s house trained, crate trained, rides great in the van, loves everyone and really needs a home!
Please contact Beth at segspresq@earthlink.net if you are interested in learning more about Joy.

Meet Stella
Stella is a fun-loving 3 year old female shepherd mix who is about 50 pounds.
She prefers to be inside rather than outside most of the time, but does enjoy going for walks, playing in the yard, and if you have a trampoline, she’ll play on that too!
Stella has been spayed, chipped, and is up to date on her shots. Stella is a sweetie who loves to be with her people and she would do best in a home with children.
